Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. The Bengkulu Police Medical and Health Department (Biddokkes) organized a coordination meeting on Thursday (16/7/2026) to plan the establishment of a Health-Based Development Fishing Village in Sumber Jaya, Kampung Melayu District, Bengkulu City. 

The initiative serves as a foundational step toward improving the health and overall quality of life for coastal communities through a multi-sectoral health management framework.

The strategic meeting was led by Bengkulu Police Medical and Health Director, Senior Superintendent dr. Effri Susanto, alongside Bengkulu City Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Rahmat Hidayat. The session also integrated key stakeholders, including the Head of the Bengkulu Province Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department, Syafriandi, and provincial economic expert, Dr. Anzori Tawakal, alongside local community representatives and neighborhood chiefs.

"Moving forward, all aspects related to public health will be the focus of development, ranging from environmental sanitation, housing conditions, personal hygiene, to stunting prevention efforts," explained Chief Effri.

He added that the long-term program will place a strong emphasis on primary school-age children to foster a healthier and more productive future generation. By combining institutional support from law enforcement, local government agencies, and medical experts, the program aims to establish a model community for coastal development.
