Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has urged residents along North Jakarta’s coast to be vigilant against tidal flooding caused by the "supermoon" phenomenon until  31 May 2025.

“Be alert to the supermoon phenomenon from 24 to 31 May 2025,” said Kristian Gottam Marudut Sihombing, Head of BPBD’s Disaster Data and Information Unit, on Tuesday (27/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com

He added that the supermoon significantly affects tidal patterns, raising sea levels along the coast.

BPBD Jakarta also reminded the public to keep their surroundings clean to prevent waste buildup that can worsen flooding and spread disease.
