inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, emphasized that his agency has never issued a milk procurement policy.
This assertion relates to fraud involving the online sale of milk for the MBG program in Pamekasan Regency, East Java.
"So far, BGN has never issued a specific milk procurement policy. BGN has never issued a specific policy or product for nutritious eating," he said, as reported by RRI on Sunday (1/25/2026).
He also stated that there is no obligation to provide milk for the MBG program, and that it can be substituted with other menu items. Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) can substitute milk for items such as soft-boned fish, broccoli, and moringa leaves.
"Milk can be replaced with other sources of protein and calcium if milk is difficult to obtain. There are many milk substitutes, especially protein sources," he said.
He explained that the milk menu for the MBG program is only intended for areas with dairy farms. Dairy farmers can benefit from the MBG program.
"Milk is distributed in areas with abundant dairy cattle so that farmers can sell their products and benefit from MBG. If there aren't any dairy cattle, the SPPG won't force the milk to be offered," he said.
Meanwhile, the Pamekasan Regency Government has not received any reports of fraudulent milk sales for MBG. The MBG milk menu uses products from well-known Indonesian milk brands.
