Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Banten destroyed on Wednesday (24/4/2024) over 21 kilograms of methamphetamine, originating from Malaysia and intended for distribution in Indonesia.
Brigadier General Rohmad Nursahid, the Head of BNN in Bangten, disclosed that the discovery unfolded with the arrest of two suspects, identified as AY (30) and M (31), at Junior shopping complex in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, Banten.
"The arrests occurred on 28 March at 1 pm. We confiscated one kilogram of meth from the suspects," he confirmed, as reported by antaranews.com.
Furthermore, a search of M's residence, disguised as a rice trading spot, revealed 19 packets of meth totaling 21 kilograms.
The meth reportedly belonged to S (52), who is a prisoner. Consequently, BNN Banten coordinated with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Tangerang Penitentiary.
"S, imprisoned for marijuana possession by the Metro Jaya Police, faces a 20-year sentence," he added.
