Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is pursuing two ship owners involved in smuggling 4 tons of narcotics in the Riau Islands waters.

Head of BNN Commissioner General Martinus Hukom revealed on Monday (26/5/2025) that  the joint investigation with neighboring countries identified Ka Khao as the owner of the vessel The Aungtoetoe 99, which carried 1.2 tons of cocaine and 678 kg of methamphetamine.

“We have issued a red notice and declared Ka Khao an international wanted person,” he said on, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The second ship, Sea Dragon Tarawa, carrying 2 tons of methamphetamine from Thailand, is owned by Chan Chai, alias Mr. Tan, a fugitive wanted by Thai police.

“BNN is also issuing a red notice for Chan Chai as an international fugitive,” Chief Hukom added.

BNN is conducting laboratory analysis of the narcotics’ “drug signature” to link these seizures with other narcotics cases, aiming to trace the syndicate networks.
