Inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Lumpur. President Prabowo Subianto invited Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to strengthen bilateral trade during a meeting on the sidelines of the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“Relations between our two countries have been very good over the years, but we must admit our trade has slightly declined. Let’s find ways to intensify and strengthen it,” the president said on Monday (26/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

President Prabowo proposed potential cooperation in mineral exploration, agriculture, and fertilizer industries, stating that Indonesia is ready to expand its capacity in those sectors.

He also emphasized the need to jointly tackle transnational crimes, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, online gambling, and cyber fraud. 

“I believe this is a crucial issue for both countries to address,” the persident said.
