inp.polri.go.id –  The National Police (Polri) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN)signed an MoU to protect the users and addicts from punishment and sends them to rehabilitation instead. Directorate of Drug Crime (Ditipidnarkoba) of Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) Polri, Brigadier General of the Police, Krisno Halomoan Siregar, S.I.K., explained that the MoU is to adjust the current conditions in the law enforcement process for narcotics abuse cases. One of the changes is the time reduction for the police in sending the drug users to the integrated assessment team at BNN. "Investigators must have submitted the suspect or user within a maximum of three days after the arrest. In the past, it was six working days," he explained. The One Star General explained that the process would be continued with the integrated assessment team in assessing the suspect a maximum of six days after the arrest so that the process to draw conclusions about whether the suspect could be rehabilitated or not would be faster. "The integrated asssesment team will decide and issue a recommendation, six days after the arrest at a narrower time. While the Police are working hard to determine whether the suspect will be recommended to the integrated assessment team of BNN or follows the legal process," he concluded.
