inp.polri.go.id – The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo is currently preparing a Presidential Instruction that regulates the use of electric vehicles for the government, Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The plan is that the government, TNI, and Polri, will be required to use electric vehicles. This Presidential Instruction on electric vehicles is a way of accelerating the use of electricity for motorcycles and cars.
Indonesian Presidential Chief of Staff, General TNI Dr. H. Moeldoko, S.I.P., said this was in accordance with the mandate contained in Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Program for Road Transportation.
"Soon the government will also prepare a Presidential Instruction to accelerate the use of electric cars within the government and TNI-Polri," said Moeldoko, Tuesday (12/7/2022).
The use of electric vehicles in the government environment can be done gradually. Moeldoko said that even the Presidential Instruction had been completed.
"The Presidential Instruction has been completed. We just need to wait," said Moeldoko.
Asked whether the replacement of the official vehicle from Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) would be simultaneous, Moeldoko said, that they will replace the old official car first.
