Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. The Bogor City Sub-regional Police have uncovered a drug trafficking case involving crystal methamphetamine (sabu) wrapped in Chinese tea packaging labeled "Guanyinwang."
Bogor Police Head of Narcotics Unit, Senior Inspector Eka Candra, revealed on Tuesday (17/9/2024) that the drugs, commonly found in packages exceeding one kilogram, were smuggled using tea packaging as a cover.
“We often find methamphetamine packed in tea bags from China. This seems to indicate international drug trafficking networks," he explained, as reported by antaranews.com..
Police seized 784 grams of methamphetamine from two suspects, identified as YDP (27) and W (26), at their rented house in Bantarjati, Bogor. The suspects were instructed by another suspect, who is at large, to distribute the drugs via a "drop" method. The suspects had previously received one kilogram of methamphetamine and had already sold part of it.
Both suspects face charges under the Narcotics Law, carrying a sentence of up to 12 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp 8 billion.
