Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. One year after a devastating fire, the Indonesian Heritage Agency (IHA), under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), has announced that the National Museum of Indonesia will reopen to the public on 15 October 2024.
“We’re not just repairing the building and saving collections; we are reimagining how this museum can serve the community better,” said Acting Head of IHA Ahmad Mahendra on Tuesday (17/9/2024).

Mahendra emphasized that this revitalization goes beyond infrastructure repairs, transforming the museum into an interactive space relevant to modern audiences. The project also benefits from international partnerships and expert consultations, ensuring a thorough restoration, according to antaranews.com.
Key upgrades include enhanced security systems and visitor facilities, making the museum safer and more engaging for future generations.
