inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Laksana Tri Handoko, emphasized that education and research are the main foundations in facing various global challenges, from climate change to geopolitical uncertainty.
"In uncertain times like these, education and research provide more than just guidance. They are a strong foundation that allows us to navigate challenges and pave a clearer path forward," said the BRIN Head on Tuesday (10/7/2025).
He highlighted that the world is facing unprecedented challenges, where climate change, the health crisis, and global food and energy security issues continue to disrupt the environment and the human economy.
Furthermore, he continued, the rapid digital transformation presents extraordinary opportunities, but also deepens inequality.
The BRIN Head assessed that the constantly changing geopolitical dynamics have added to global uncertainty. However, he said, these challenges should actually be a momentum to strengthen cross-national collaboration.
"These challenges may seem daunting, but they also unite us. They remind us of our common humanity and that no nation can solve these problems alone. We need each other," said the BRIN Head.
In that context, the BRIN Head called the relationship between Indonesia and the Netherlands strategic. The collaboration between the two countries, he said, is rooted not only in a long history but also in shared values and commitment to building a sustainable future.
Furthermore, the BRIN Head emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation of this program to ensure a real impact.
He also reminded that research and innovation results should not stop in journals or laboratories, but must provide direct benefits to society.
"Collaboration is not an end in itself, but a means to create real change in equitable policies, accessible technology, inspiring curricula, and research that serves the community," said the BRIN Head.
