Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Presidential Palace confirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture and state logistics agency Bulog are improving rice storage management to prevent further quality decline.
After a limited meeting led by President Prabowo Subianto at his Kertanegara residence on Sunday, State Secretary and presidential spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi said the government is preparing 100 new warehouses nationwide ahead of the upcoming harvest.
“The focus is to modernize storage systems and repair aging warehouses. We’re also building new ones managed jointly by central government and local administrations,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The presidential spokesperson added that the military and the police will assist in developing innovative warehouse models, while regional administrations are encouraged to revive traditional village food barns.
He also confirmed that the government will review a House of Representatives (DPR) proposal to elevate Bulog’s status from a state-owned enterprise to an independent ministerial-level body, potentially merging it with the National Food Agency (Bapanas) to streamline food distribution and strengthen food security coordination.
