Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the Indonesian Military (TNI) to prepare peacekeeping troops for potential deployment to Gaza, pending approval by the UN Security Council and constructive outcomes from Monday’s Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
“If constructive agreements are reached and Indonesia is asked to help maintain peace, the President has instructed the TNI to be ready,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as the Presidential Spokesperson, after a limited meeting at the President’s residence on Sunday night (12/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
President Prabowo departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base shortly after midnight for Egypt, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya.
In his recent UN General Assembly address, President Prabowo said that Indonesia was ready to deploy up to 20,000 troops to support international peace missions in Gaza or other conflict zones, reaffirming Indonesia’s longstanding commitment to global peacekeeping.
