Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police arrest another escapees who ran away from Tanah Abang Sector Police prison cell. From 14 prisoners who escaped, eight have been secured. “From 16 who escaped, two were immediately secured upon running away from the Sector Police Tanah Abang, then the others were able to escape for a while, and now we have secured another eight escapees,” said Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police Chief Susatyo Purnomo Condro in conference press on Thursday (2/22/2024). According to Susatyo, one of the escapees was arrested in Ciledug; another one in Bendungan Hilir, Central Jakarta; one in Pekalongan, Central Java; one in Tangerang; one in Palmerah, West Jakarta; one in Srengseng, West Jakarta; one in Tambung, Bekasi; and one in Bintaro, South Tangerang. “We are still pursuing other six escapes who are still in fugitive,” said the police chief. Susatyo adds that the police also arrest another accomplice of the escapees named Rizki Amalia. She was the wife of one of the escaped inmates who helped freed her husband. Amalia, said Susatyo, slipped trellis saw to cell bathroom. Prisoners then cut the metal bars in turn for three weeks. “They conceal the sound of metal bars cutting by singing to trick the wardens,” said Susatyo. Investigators sentenced Rizki Amalia with Article 223 in conjunction with Article 56 of the Criminal Code and Article 138 of the Narcotics Law for obstructing investigations with a maximum penalty of seven years.
