Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. Indonesian National Police (INP) Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo said on Friday (2/1/2026) traffic flow and public security during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period were generally safe and under control nationwide.

“Overall traffic conditions during the Christmas and New Year period were monitored as secure, orderly, and conducive,” he said while inspecting traffic operations at state toll operator PT Jasa Marga’s Toll Road Command Center as reported by antaranews.com

The assessment was delivered as Polri leadership reviewed holiday traffic management to evaluate post-holiday mobility through real-time traffic monitoring and coordination.

Chief Dedi said Operation Lilin 2025 officially ended on Friday but would be extended through enhanced police activities until January 5 to anticipate the return traffic peak on January 4.

Police data projected 2.9 million vehicles exiting Jakarta and 2.8 million returning during the holiday period, with traffic engineering measures such as odd-even schemes, contraflow, and one-way systems remaining on standby.
