Inp.polri.go.id - Ciamis. The Ciamis Sub-regional Police constructed a 300-meter water pipeline in Mekarjadi Village, Sadananya District, Ciamis Regency, West Java, on Wednesday (9/9/2026) to alleviate drought-induced water shortages.

Previously, residents had to manually carry buckets up steep hills from a distant lower water source due to dried-up wells.

"We helped the Mekarjadi Village community by installing a 300-meter pipeline to ease access to the water source during this dry season," said Ciamis Police Chief Superintendent Eko Iskandar.

The initiative directly assists around 80 households, benefiting approximately 400 residents, particularly the elderly who struggled with the steep terrain.

Chief Eko noted that drought affects 15 districts across Ciamis Regency and committed to providing additional water trucks and drilling wells where needed.
