Member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), Andi Rio Idris Padjalangi, asked the Police to conduct trial engineering of the 2022 Eid homecoming flow at several points prone to congestion. In his statement in Jakarta, he said that the test was to prevent the accumulation of vehicles and minimize traffic accidents during homecoming. He said that traffic engineering from an early period was aimed at realizing the homecoming flow on the D-day to go as expected. According to him, the National Police Chief's review in checking the busses to make sure it's okay or not to be used is a good step to avoid or minimize traffic accidents. "However, health factors must remain a priority to avoid or minimize traffic accidents in the 2022 homecoming period," he said. He said regarding the application of electronic tickets to reduce the violation of speed limits at several toll road points, was a very effective step in minimizing the occurrence of accidents. However, according to him, this must be accompanied by awareness and discipline of travelers in obeying traffic signs. In addition, what is also very important is the rate of people complying with the health protocols. "I am optimistic that the homecoming in 2022 will go according to our expectations," said Andi Rio.
