inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo leads the ceremony for the 2022 Ketupat Operation at Monas Square, Central Jakarta, Friday (22/4/2022). This activity is the final review of personnel’s readiness ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 2022. "This deployment involves stakeholders from the Ministry of Transportation, TNI, Regional Government, Jasa Raharja, Pertamina, Basarnas, Ministry of Health, and BMKG. So this ceremony is carried out not only at Monas but throughout the region simultaneously," said Sigit at the Monas Square. Sigit said that this deployment was also to ensure the readiness of all relevant stakeholder personnel, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, and the preparation of security posts, service posts, and integrated posts ahead of homecoming 2022. On this occasion, Sigit again appealed to the entire community to carry out homecoming before April 28, 29, and 30, 2022, which is predicted to be the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow this year. Based on the survey from the Ministry of Transportation, there are 83 million people who will go to their hometown this year, and 23 million of them use cars and 17 million by motorbikes. Sigit said that doing homecoming early can reduce the potential for congestion on toll roads or other land routes. "Therefore we urge that people will be wiser in deciding when to leave, and I ask private institutions to allow their employees to have an early leave, and this has been regulated in the letter from the Minister of Manpower. We hope that by taking advantage of the available time, the potential for congestion on the road, especially this toll road, can be managed properly, "said Sigit. Even so, Sigit ensured that the Government, in this case through the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police, and all relevant stakeholders, had prepared a regulatory strategy to prevent traffic jams during the peak of the homecoming flow this year. Sigit explained the strategies to avoid and prevent traffic jams when going home are One Way, Contraflow, and odd-even. Not only that, Sigit said that the Government had also prepared well, and provided alternative routes for people to carry out homecoming. Sigit explained the strategies to avoid and prevent traffic jams are One-Way, Contraflow, and odd-even systems. Not only that, Sigit said that the Government had also prepared well, and provided alternative routes for people who want to go back to their hometowns. "Alternative routes, which of course can be used as an option, are the Pantura alternative route and the South Coast. Both of those roads are in good condition and ready to be used as an alternative homecoming route," said the former Police Criminal Investigation Officer. To further reduce the burden or potential for congestion that occurs on land routes, Sigit also appealed to the public to be able to take advantage of other modes of public transportation. "Then we also urge the people to use alternative modes of transportation that can be chosen, such as trains, which are currently also preparing an additional 20 thousand seats per day. This can be an option in addition to the air mode. Of course, everything is ready to support this yearly mass activity to go smoothly, "explained the former Banten Police Chief. Not only that, Sigit stated, the Government and several other related agencies have also organized a free homecoming. Of course, this positive thing can be used by people who want to go to their hometown. "We urge the public to take advantage of all the alternatives, facilities, and modes of transportation that the government has prepared. So that traffic jams can be avoided," said Sigit. In addition to preparing homecoming efforts and strategies, Sigit asserted, the police and other relevant agencies will also optimize the acceleration of booster vaccinations for travelers. This, according to Sigit, is to optimize the immunity of the entire community. Therefore, Sigit emphasized the readiness of security posts, service posts, and integrated posts in providing the best and excellent service for people who are going home. "We hope that when we meet our family again, our immunity will be ready to fight back against diseases and prevents us to become carriers. Therefore, we hope that the vaccination program can be followed optimally. So that after Eid-ul-Fitr we can control the growth rate of Covid," said Sigit. In securing the homecoming of Eid al-Fitr 2022, around 140,000 joint personnel were deployed. All of this personnel will fill 2,702 posts consisting of 1,710 security posts, 734 service posts, and 258 integrated posts.
