Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid claimed the significant decline in online gambling transactions shows the government’s firm commitment to protecting the public from the social and economic harm of illegal gambling, based on official financial intelligence data released on Thursday (18/12/2025).
“This is a collective achievement of the government and society, proving the state is seriously present to protect people, especially vulnerable groups, from online gambling,” she said, as quoted by antaranews.com
Data from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) recorded online gambling fund circulation of Rp155 trillion in 2025 up to the third quarter, down 57 percent from 2024. The number of players also fell to 3.1 million, a decrease of more than 68 percent year on year.
Minister Meutya said the results reflect effective supervision, access blocking, and law enforcement. She added that the ministry will continue restricting gambling content, strengthening digital infrastructure monitoring, and tightening financial monitoring to further limit illegal operators.
