Inp.polri.go.id - PAPUA. Papua regional police now has two big tasks. In addition to hunting down the armed criminal group (KKB) joint with the Indonesian army, Indonesian Police also focus on dismantling the drug mafia. Because, during this pandemic, the price of Covid-19 therapeutic drugs has soared. This was revealed in a coordination meeting on the handling of Covid-19 led by the Papuan Police Chief l, Police Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri with the directors of hospitals throughout Jayapura and Keerom. Director of Abepura Hospital, Daisy Christina Urbinas, expressed that the hospital she manages is currently experiencing difficulties because the price of medicines has skyrocketed. “There is one drug whose normal price is Rp. 4 million (USD 275) now it is Rp. 25 million (USD 1800),” she grumbled. The unreasonable price increase was highly suspicious. He also hopes that the Regional Police Chief can reveal the cause of the increase. "Is it true that there is a mafia or is there another reason," he said in a written statement from the Papuan Police yesterday (22/7). Regarding the KKB, the Papuan Police and Indonesian Army who are members of the Task Force for Law Enforcement operations Nemangkawi managed to arrest Osimin Wenda alias Usimin Telenggen, a member of the KKB who is a prisoner in Abepura Prison. Osimin, who has been on the wanted list for five years, was arrested in Wandigobak Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, yesterday. The Director of the Criminal Investigation Agency for the Papua Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Faisal Ramadhani, stated that Osimin is now being questioned at the Puncak Jaya Police Headquarters. "He received a life sentence in 2014, but escaped from Abepura Prison in 2018," he explained. Osimin, whose other name is Ustel Bin Laden, is known to often harass truck drivers who pass on the new road to Philia. He was also involved in the attack on the Pirime Police in November 2012. Not only that, Osimin was involved in the attempt to intercept and shoot the Papuan Police Chief in 2012. At that time the Papuan Police Chief was Tito Karnavian (now Minister of Home Affairs). “He was arrested by the Papua Regional Police Timsus on July 15, 2013. However, he fled from Abepura Prison on January 8, 2016,” he explained. Furthermore, Osimin was involved in the shooting of a motorcycle taxi driver named Yanmar in Popome Village, Puncak Jaya Regency, in 2018. He was also involved in a shootout with Nemangkawi Task Force personnel in Popome Village in 2018.
