Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Customs and Excise and the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Criminal Investigation Agency have intensified efforts to prevent drug smuggling, conducting six major operations from December 2024 to February 2025.

“The success in uncovering these drug cases is clear proof that theCustoms Office  and INP are strengthening their cooperation to protect the public from illegal drug circulation,” said Customs Office Director of Communications, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, on Wednesday (5/3/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Authorities recently intercepted 69 kg of methamphetamine in Tanjung Balai Asahan on 31 December 2024, using a ship-to-ship smuggling method. Subsequent seizures included 27 kg in Aceh, 31 kg in Riau, and 135 kg in Lhokseumawe. Two additional busts in Bengkalis and Aceh Tamiang uncovered 20 kg and 188 kg, respectively, all involving maritime smuggling via speedboats.
