Inp.polri.go.id - Puncak. The Damai Cartenz Police Task Force arrested a wanted suspect, identified as JT (alias W), in Gome District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Thursday (3/9/2026).

Suspect JT had been listed on the Puncak Sub-regional Police's most-wanted list since December 2024 for his alleged involvement in the September 2023 attempted murder and shooting of Antonius Padang in Ilaga District. Authorities also suspect JT played a surveillance role in the theft of an organic police firearm at Aminggaru Airport in February 2024.

"Officers conducted the arrest at a honai traditional home in Jenggernok Village. The suspect was transported to the Puncak Police Criminal Investigation Unit for further interrogation and legal processing," Damai Cartenz Task Force Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo said.

Joint forces also detained a female associate, identified as EW (alias KW), and seized several items, including tactical gear, edged weapons, mobile phones, and a Morning Star flag wristband. 

Damai Cartenz Task Force Commander Inspector General Faizal Ramadhani reiterated that legal actions against wanted suspects remain measured, professional, and strictly evidence-based.
