Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia announced plans to begin large-scale reforms of major state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in 2026, targeting stronger governance, efficiency, and market performance, according to its Economic Outlook 2026 released in Jakarta on Wednesday (14/1/2026).

“For public markets, fewer entities can mean fewer mandated conflicts and more consistent business decisions,” Danantara stated in the report, as quoted by antaranews.com

The reform agenda will focus on major SOEs, including state banks Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, and Bank Negara Indonesia, which are seen as well positioned for earnings recovery amid lower funding costs and improving loan growth. State telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia is also expected to unlock greater shareholder value through better asset utilization.

Danantara said its ongoing restructuring efforts at state airways company Garuda Indonesia, state steel company PT Krakatau Steel, and state tin company PT Timah have helped build market credibility. The initiative is in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to gradually reduce the number of SOEs from over 1,000 to around 200 to strengthen Indonesia’s long-term economic growth.
