Minister of Trade Budi Santoso said 95 merchant accounts were also taken down after repeated violations.
“The breaches involved regulated commodities, including 1,731 alcohol ads, 514 hazardous materials, 124 refined sugar, 10 subsidized fertilizers, 257 Minyakita, and three measuring instruments,” he said on Wednesday (27/5/2026), as reported by antaranews.com..
The Ministry has issued 3,310 sanction letters to e-commerce businesses between late 2024 and 2025, with penalties ranging from blacklisting to temporary service blocking. Offline inspections covered 104 businesses, including marketplaces and online retailers.
The ministry is preparing revisions to Trade Minister Regulation No. 31/2023 to strengthen digital trade governance, focusing on local product visibility, business legality, consumer protection, and transparency in digital platforms.
