Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa on Wednesday (27/5/2026) said the weakening of the rupiah to Rp 17,800 per US dollar does not require recalculating the state budget.
He explained that the Ministry of Finance had already simulated scenarios including global oil prices at USD 100 per barrel.
“We’ve calculated it. Even at USD 100 per barrel, the rupiah assumption was included. So there’s no problem, no need to recalculate the state budget,” Minister Purbaya said at the Directorate General of Taxes office in Jakarta, as reported by antaranews.com.
He noted that bond markets remain stable due to government buybacks that keep yields under control, maintaining foreign investor confidence. Minister Purbaya added that further measures are being prepared to strengthen the rupiah. Despite current pressure, he emphasized Indonesia’s economic fundamentals remain strong.
