Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visited Boven Digoel in South Papua on Sunday (8/6/2025) to inspect the development of a palm oil-based biodiesel program.

The biodiesel initiative is part of President Prabowo Subianto's energy resilience strategy to reduce dependency on imported fuel, especially diesel.

Minister Sjafrie said in a statement that aerial inspections of the plantation area also reflect the Ministry of Defense’s dedication to securing Indonesia’s eastern region and supporting strategic development in Papua, as reported by antaranews.com.

He was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, and Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo.
