The Indonesian National Police (INP) Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror (AT) Unit, through the South Sulawesi Regional Task Force, held a campaign to prevent the spread of intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism (IRET) among the public in the Car Free Day Boulevard area of ​​Makassar City on Sunday (7/5/2026).

The activity, led by the Head of the South Sulawesi Regional Task Force of Densus 88 AT, Senior Superintendent Agung N. Masloman, was part of an effort to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining unity, strengthening tolerance, and preventing the development of radicalism and bullying behavior in the social environment.

During the activity, South Sulawesi Regional Task Force personnel provided direct education to the community about the importance of instilling national values, respecting diversity, and building a safe, peaceful, and respectful environment.

The community was also invited to participate by signing a banner reading "Say No to Bullying, Intolerance, Radicalism, and Terrorism" as a symbol of support for creating a harmonious community free from violent ideologies.

Agung stated that preventing the spread of intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism cannot be done by law enforcement officers alone, but requires the active involvement of all elements of society.

"Prevention must begin with collective awareness. Through activities like this, we want to encourage the public to understand the importance of maintaining unity, respecting differences, and rejecting all forms of intolerance, radicalism, terrorism, and bullying that can damage community life. Cooperation between the police and the community is key to creating a safe, peaceful, and harmonious environment," said Agung.

He added that public spaces such as Car Free Day are an effective means of building direct communication with the public while conveying national messages in a humane manner.
