Nasyirul Falah Amru, a member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), asked the police to thoroughly investigate the clash between communities that occurred in the Matraman area of Jakarta on Sunday (7/26/2026), which resulted in the destruction of buildings and vehicles, and resulted in one death.
He expressed regret and concern over the incident. He stated that the incident could have been anticipated, as similar incidents frequently occur in the area.
"I am very confident that the police can resolve this problem, and of course, we strongly expect the professionalism of the police force," Falah said in Jakarta on Monday (6/27/2026).
Nasyirul asked the police to thoroughly investigate the clash between residents that occurred in the Matraman area of Jakarta on Sunday (7/26/2026), which resulted in the destruction of buildings and vehicles, and resulted in one death.
He expressed regret and concern over the incident. He stated that the case could have been anticipated because similar incidents frequently occur in the area.
He emphasized that a conducive atmosphere must be maintained by all members of the Jakarta community. He stated that a similar incident must not be allowed to happen again.

Previously, the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police named seven people as suspects in two cases that resulted in a clash on Tambak street, Pegangsaan Village, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (7/26/2026).
The Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, stated that the seven suspects consist of four people involved in the vandalism of a vendor's cart and three people involved in a mob attack that resulted in one death.
He explained that the four suspects in the vandalism of a rice porridge cart on Jalan Matraman Dalam have the initials GNA, AJL, FAM, and ELL. Meanwhile, in the mob attack on Jalan Tambak that resulted in the death of a person, investigators have named three suspects with the initials SK, AS, and OR.
