inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sari Yuliati called for professional law enforcement to be carried out in the investigation into the alleged child abuse case at a daycare in Yogyakarta.

Sari expressed deep concern over this case. She emphasized that law enforcement officials must investigate this case thoroughly, transparently, and accountably.

"We demand that the legal process be carried out professionally and that strict sanctions be imposed on any party proven to have committed a violation. There must be no tolerance for any form of violence against children," she said on Monday (4/27/2026).

Furthermore, she urged the government, through relevant ministries and institutions, to immediately evaluate the licensing system, operational standards, and oversight mechanisms for all daycares in Indonesia.

According to her, strengthening regulations is a crucial step to prevent similar cases from recurring in the future.

"This incident must serve as momentum to improve the child protection system, particularly in daycare facilities. The state must ensure that every child has a safe, appropriate, and supportive environment for their growth and development," she said.

Sari also urged the public to be more selective in choosing childcare services and to play an active role in monitoring and immediately reporting any indications of violations.
