Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tanjung Priok Police Office have arrested eight teenagers suspected of involvement in a violent brawl that left a 20-year-old man dead near the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Papanggo, North Jakarta.

“We arrested eight persons within six hours and are continuing to investigate the case,” said Assistant Senior Inspector Tommy Brian Hutomo, the Chief of Criminal Investigation at the Tanjung Priok Police, on Tuesday (27/5/2025). 

The victim, identified by his initials AR, died from head wounds believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon, as reported by antaranews.com.

Police also seized a machete and a motorcycle allegedly used by the attackers. The incident occurred Monday evening around 8 pm when the suspects reportedly arrived in a motorbike convoy through JIS’s south gate and attacked three individuals on a motorcycle.

One victim died, another was injured, and the third fled the scene. The motorcycle plunged into a ditch during the attack. Authorities are investigating the motive, awaiting further statements and medical reports.
