inp.polri.go.id – Palembang. To celebrate the 76th Anniversary of Bhayangkara, the South Sumatra Police (Polda Sumsel) held the South Sumatra Police Bhayangkara Badminton Cup. The tournament was held at the Bhayangkara Badminton field, Warsito Pakri building, Palembang, Friday (24/6/22) night.
The badminton tournament activity between Polda Sumsel Units, Regional Units, TNI, Community, and related agencies was opened directly by the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, and accompanied by the South Sumatra Police Chief (Kapolda Sumsel), Inspector General Drs. Toni Harmanto, M.H.
In his remarks, the Governor of South Sumatra said that the badminton tournament was held as one of a series of activities to celebrate the 76th Bhayangkara Day, as well as an effort to promote and increase public interest about the importance of sports activities, especially badminton.
"From activities like this, we hope that in addition to enlivening Bhayangkara Day, we can also encourage public interest in sports, such as badminton," stated the Governor of South Sumatra.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) of Polda Sumsel, Commissioner Drs. Supriadi, M.M., explained that this badminton tournament was held for 5 days, from June 24 to 28, 2022, which was attended by many participants.
"With this kind of activity, it is hoped that this kind of competitions will continue, so that badminton will become more entrenched in the people of South Sumatra," said Kabid Humas Polda Sumsel.
He continued, the Two-Star General also gave his appreciation to Polda Sumsel units, to the ranks, and participants from other agencies for their cohesiveness and enthusiasm to enliven the series of commemorations of the 76th Bhayangkara Day.
"I wish the participants a good match, and continue to uphold sportsmanship," concluded the former West Sumatra Police Chief.
