Approaching the end of his tenure as Head of the Gorontalo Regional Police (Kapolda Gorontalo) in order to carry out his new mandate as the Head of the Lampung Police, Inspector General Dr. Akhmad Wiyagus, S.I.K., M.Si., M.M., still showed his enthusiasm by joining the Bima team in the cycling activity, which covered a distance of 508 Km from Jakarta to Semarang Police Academy
Kapolda Gorontalo said that this activity was in accordance with the spirit of the National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, M.Sc., in supporting the national economic recovery.
"This Equator Precision Cycling covers a distance of 508 Km with a starting point at the Bhayangkara Field and finishes at the Semarang Police Academy. This activity is in accordance with the spirit of Kapolri which is the theme of the 76th Bhayangkara Day this year. The precise National Police (Polri) supports economic recovery and structural reforms to create a resilient Indonesia. This is the first time that Polri has held this activity, the specified distance and time of our bicycle team will be included in the MURI record-breaking," explained the Two-Star General, Saturday (25/6/22).
The MURI cycling record-breaking activity, was departed from South Jakarta Police Bhayangkara Field to the Semarang Police Academy, and were attended by 144 participants, ranging from national bicycle athletes, members of Polri, Bhayangkari, to the riding community in Indonesia. Of the hundreds of cyclists, they were divided into four teams, including the Garuda and Arjuna teams who became the main team who attempts to make history in breaking the MURI record. There was also the Srikandi team and the Bima team who joined in this event.
Kapolda Gorontalo himself is part of the Bima Team along with the Deputy Chief of Police Gorontalo, Irwasum, Kalemdiklat, Kabaintelkam, Central Sulawesi Police Chief, East Java Police Chief, and several other high-ranking Police Officers.
"We, Bima Team, was able to cover a distance of 113 km, from Jakarta to 113 iron stakes," said the Kapolda Gorontalo.
The event was also attended by national bicycle athletes including Benjamin Van Aert, Aiman Cahyadi, Nur Arief Prayoga, Selamat Juangga, Jamalidin Novardianto, Terry Yudha Kusuma and others.
