Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo admitted he felt uneasy when receiving the Bintang Mahaputera Utama, one of Indonesia’s highest civilian honors, directly from his elder brother, President Prabowo Subianto.
The award ceremony took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (25/8/2025), as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
“I must be honest, when I was told about it, I felt uncomfortable because the President is my own brother,” Hashim told reporters after the ceremony, as quoted by antaranews.com.
He received the honor for his decades of contribution to preserving endangered species and Indonesia’s cultural heritage, including wayang and archaeology. This is the fourth national award he has obtained, following recognitions during the administrations of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and President Joko Widodo.
The 2025 honors list included 141 recipients, ranging from Cabinet members, politicians and cultural figures to police and military officials. President Prabowo said the awards represent the state’s appreciation for extraordinary national service.
