Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Three Indonesian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured Friday afternoon (3/4/2026) following a sudden explosion near a UN facility in El Adeisse.
"An explosion near a UN facility wounded three peacekeepers, two of whom sustained serious injuries," UNIFIL Spokesperson Kandice Ardiel said in an official release reported by antaranews.com.
The victims were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment as UN authorities launched a formal investigation into the blast's origin. This incident follows a devastating week for the Indonesian contingent, which recently mourned the loss of three other personnel killed in separate artillery and convoy attacks across southern Lebanon.
United Nations officials have urged all warring factions to respect the safety of international monitors and avoid combat operations near designated peacekeeper zones. While the source of Friday's explosion remains unconfirmed, UNIFIL maintains that rigorous inquiries are underway to determine accountability and prevent further casualties among the multinational stabilization force.
