Inp.polri.go.id - Surabaya. Gresik Phonska Pupuk Indonesia secured a decisive 3-0 victory against Jakarta Popsivo Polwan during the Proliga 2026 final four at Jawapos Arena on Friday.
"We analyzed Popsivo's gameplay thoroughly and prepared the squad well for this match, making this a vital win for our team," stated Gresik Phonska Head Coach, Alessandro Lodi.
The victory came despite several players reportedly falling ill hours before the whistle. Led by Oleksandra Bytsenko’s 17-point performance, Gresik Phonska exploited their opponents' defensive lapses, particularly during a lopsided second set that ended 25-12.
Popsivo struggled to integrate new foreign signing Malwina Smarzek, committing numerous unforced errors throughout the ninety-minute contest. Although the police-affiliated team attempted a late comeback in the third set, Gresik Phonska maintained their composure to close the game 25-23, solidifying their standing in the elite final four rankings while Popsivo’s coach cited poor adaptation as a key factor in their defeat.
