np.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa reported findings of manipulated export values to President Prabowo Subianto during a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace on Thursday (21/5/2026).

He explained that random checks on three shipments from 10 palm oil companies revealed significant discrepancies. 

“One company recorded exports worth USD 2.6 million, while the importer in the U.S. paid USD 4.2 million. Another case showed a 200 percent difference,” the Minister said, as reported by antaranews.com.

The government has recently established PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI), a state-owned export company, to improve governance of natural resource exports and prevent under-invoicing and transfer pricing. These practices have long reduced Indonesia’s tax and royalty revenues by shifting profits abroad.

Examples include coal sold cheaply to affiliated traders overseas, who then resell at market prices, leaving Indonesia with lower recorded profits and reduced state income.

Minister Purbaya emphasized that monitoring will now be conducted “ship by ship” to detect manipulation and ensure fair contributions to the state.
