The fire at the Hospital morgue, situated in Tanjung Priok area, started at around 8.25 pm on Tuesday (3/10/2023),prompting an immediate response from the local police and firefighting teams. T "Upon receiving the hospital's call, preliminary information pointed toward the mortuary room as the epicenter of the fire. While our investigation is ongoing, an initial suspicion revolves around the possibility of an electrical short circuit," Senior Superintendent Gidion Arif Setyawan, the Chief of the North Jakarta Metro Police said as quoted by antaranews.com Responding firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the flames. No casualties were reported during the incident. Chief Gidion praised the firefighters for their heroic response, which averted further destruction and potential harm to patients. The evacuated patients were able to safely return to their treatment rooms within the hospital.  The operations at the hospital have since returned to normalcy. Assistant Superintendent Nazirwan, the Chief of Tanjung Priok Police, disclosed that the room in question was unoccupied at the time of the incident. "The room that caught fire was empty, and our investigators were working to uncover the exact cause," he saidduring a press briefing on Tuesday evening.
