Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) confirmed that five people have died, and four others remain missing following floods and landslides in Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
"Search and rescue teams are looking for the missing victims," said BNPB spokesperson Abdul Muhari on Sunday night (9/3/2025).
The deceased victims were identified as Eneng Sabiti (40), Siti Nurul Awlia (8), Nendi Saputra (7), Ooy (69), and Yayar (70). The missing individuals include Drajat (60), Siti Maryam (35), Ahyar Fauzi (9), and Mondi (9), according to antaranews.com.
The disaster affected 12 villages with flooding and triggered landslides in 30 villages across 22 sub-districts. While floodwaters have fully receded, emergency response efforts continue.
Local authorities have deployed heavy machinery, including excavators, and activated three emergency posts to accelerate search operations and assist displaced residents.
