Foreign Capital Inflow Reaches Rp 690 Billion in Indonesia: BI

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesian Central Bank, Bank Indonesia (BI), reported a net foreign capital inflow of IDR 690 billion into the domestic financial market from July 15-18, 2024.

Erwin Haryono, the Head of BI’s Communication Department, said on Saturday (20/7/2024) that this includes Rp 670 billion in net inflow into the stock market and Rp 400 billion into Bank Indonesia's Rupiah Securities (SRBI). However, there was a net outflow of Rp 380 billion from government bonds (SBN).

Since the start of 2024 up to 18 July 2024, net foreign outflows from SBN have totaled Rp 31.10 trillion and Rp 2.98 trillion from the stock market, while net inflows into SRBI amounted to Rp 162.15 trillion.

Erwin noted that Indonesia’s five-year credit default swap (CDS) premium was 74.04 basis points (bps) as of 18 July 2024, up from 69.58 bps on 12 July 2024, according to antaranews.com.

The yield on Indonesia’s 10-year SBN remained stable at 6.92%, while the US Treasury Note 10-year yield increased to 4.202%.

The rupiah opened at Rp 16,180 per USD on 19 July 2024, weakening from Rp 16,150 on 18 July 2024. The US dollar index strengthened to 104.17 at the end of 18 July 2024 trading.
