inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Expert Staff to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Ikeu Tanziha stated that free nutritious meals will be effective starting January 2025, targeting around 15-20 million children at 82 points spread throughout Indonesia.

However, Ikeu notes that of the free nutritious meals programs, not all Indonesian children would acquire the aid as the funds are not enough.

Ikeu said that her party had collaborated with various ministries/institutions and MSMEs that would supply food at the 82 points.

"We have collaborated with the Military District Command (Kodim) in and outside Java, with 50 inside Java and 32 outside Java. It is also possible that there will be more points as the time goes on,” said Ikeu.

BGN, said Ikeu, has conducted trials at several points or kitchen service units targeting at least 3,000 children in January-October 2024.

"It has been done for a year until this November and it has run smoothly, so it has become our reference for implementing the service units that we have created in various places," said Ikeu.

She continued that BGN has also educated graduates of Indonesian development enforcers (SPPI) to operate service units throughout Indonesia.
