Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, the Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief Assistant for Human Resources, urged 150 Papua Regional Police non-commissioned cadets at the Mojokerto Police Academy (SPN) in East Java to foster camaraderie with their East Java counterparts.
"From the farthest points of Ngawi to Banyuwangi and from Gresik to Trenggalek, you are all family. The East Java cadets are your siblings. Together, you are all working to defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said on Tuesday (6/8/2024), as reported by antaranews.com..
Emphasizing that the cadets are being trained to become professional officers, he advised the academy staff to avoid physical or verbal abuse and to approach training humanely.
Chief Dedi also highlighted key aspects of their basic training, including cultural adaptation, contextual learning, strengthening health systems, basic skills enhancement, mentoring, and fostering national insight.
In addition to the 150 cadets from Papua Police placed in East Java, 1,150 others are placed in Banten, West Java, and Central Java, while 965 cadets from West Papua Police are at SPNs in Bali and South Sulawesi.
After completing their training, these cadets will undergo a one-year internship at various police offices. This year, 3,000 Papuan cadets are undergoing police training at six SPNs across the country.
