Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government has set a target to revitalize 71,744 educational units in 2026 with a total budget allocation of Rp 14 trillion to significantly upgrade national educational infrastructure and facilities, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, announced on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
"President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized this on several occasions, ensuring the 2026 revitalization program can reach 71,744 educational units," Minister Mu'ti said during a press conference reported by antaranews.com.
He noted that Rp 2,6 trillion has already been channeled to 3,408 schools as part of the initial implementation phase.
The program prioritizes schools damaged by natural disasters, particularly in Sumatra and other affected regions. The government is also focusing on educational facilities in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions, as well as buildings with severe structural damage.
Authorities have currently finalized cooperation agreements with 4,838 educational units to accelerate the construction process.
