Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto is pushing for the creation of superior human resources (HR) to realize downstreaming and industrialization, so that Indonesia can escape the middle-income trap that has been a serious threat for a long time in Indonesia. 

"The President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia's aspirations clearly state the need to strengthen human resources, science, and technology. One of the keys is downstreaming and industrialization, which can increase the selling value of a product," said Minister Brian on Wednesday (9/24/2025).

Brian emphasized that Indonesia has a very important demographic bonus potential, to accelerate the nation's progress.

Higher education, he said, is a strategic asset in driving national development through industrial development.

In addition,it is necessary to ensure that graduates in the fields of science and technology are key to industrial development that has a direct impact on society.

"We need superior people and advanced industries. That is the key to making Indonesia have a strategic role in the global economic map," said Brian.
