inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that Indonesia is strengthening cooperation with Saudi Arabia in renewable energy and education.

"We are encouraged to undertake joint efforts in renewable energy, a very promising field as both countries transition to a greener future," said the Minister of Religious Affairs on Wednesday (9/24/2025).

He added that both countries have rich natural resources. Therefore, Indonesia encourages cooperation in renewable energy as part of sustainable practices to utilize and preserve natural resources.

In the field of education, many Indonesian students pursue further studies at Saudi universities, while Saudi students are also accepted at Islamic and academic institutions in Indonesia. This cooperation continues to be encouraged, especially through student exchange programs. 

Furthermore, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia also share a deep commitment to peace and stability, both in their respective regions and in the Muslim world at large.

In a message delivered by the Minister of Religious Affairs, President Prabowo emphasized that Saudi Arabia holds a special place for the Indonesian people.

"Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are honored with great affection and respect. This is not just tourism, but a sacred aspiration that embraces our people in an inseparable spiritual embrace. This relationship brings a unique warmth to our diplomacy," said President Prabowo.

Looking ahead, President Prabowo sees great potential for strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries, including increasing Saudi Arabia's participation in infrastructure projects, developing the halal industry, the digital economy, and promoting Islamic finance to create global standards for Islamic financial services.
