inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) assesses that the halal certification held by Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) guarantees the quality and halal value of food and beverages for beneficiaries of the program.

"The presence of a halal certificate provides assurance that the food and beverages served to beneficiaries of the MBG program meet the established halal standards," said Mamat Salamet Burhanudin, Deputy for Halal Registration and Certification at BPJPH, Wednesday (6/3/2026).

Mamat stated that halal certification is a crucial aspect in the implementation of the MBG program as it guarantees the halal status of food and beverages consumed by the public.

Therefore, BPJPH continues to provide education, outreach, and assistance to ensure that all SPPGs fulfill their halal certification obligations in accordance with statutory regulations.

"As mandated by Law Number 33 of 2014, all products, including food and beverages, distributed in Indonesia must be halal certified," said Deputy Mamat.

Through outreach to SPPGs, BPJPH hopes that more kitchens will understand the importance of halal certification and immediately apply for it.

"This step is expected to strengthen the quality of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) and ensure that the public receives nutritious, safe, and halal-certified food," noted Mamat.

According to him, halal certification not only serves as a form of regulatory compliance but also serves as an instrument of protection and legal certainty for the public.

Furthermore, BPJPH also encourages all MBG organizers to focus not only on obtaining halal certification but also on maintaining consistent implementation of the Halal Product Process (PPH) throughout the food supply chain, from raw material procurement, storage, processing, and serving.

"We hope that all SPPGs will immediately apply for halal certification and consistently maintain the implementation of halal product processes. This way, we can ensure the halal quality of the products served to our beneficiaries," Mamat concluded.
