The Head of Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, accompanied with the Director of Law Enforcement Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso survey the preparation of 2024 Ketupat Operation in Jakarta-Semarang Toll Road. Based on their review, Aan confirmed that the toll road is ready to operate for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr Holiday and ensure no construction work occurred during the holy month. “Today we are surveying the preparation for Eid Al-Fitr. The security preparation from us and related stakeholders are well prepared, both in the main toll road or in arterial road,” said Aan Suhanan in Cikopo Police Post on Monday (2/26/2024). He explains that in their review, the facilities condition for the toll road is all good as several toll roads are prepared with CCTV cameras, Traffic Counting in Cipali, and CCTV cameras integrated with KM 29 Command Center in Cisumdawu toll road. “According to the estimation from Toll Road Business Entity, particularly Jasa Marga, there will be an increase of 5-6% in traffic volume who exits the Greater Jakarta during the Eid Al-Fitr Holiday period. And there will around 200 million people of Indonesia who would take advantage of the long holiday for recreation or going to home town,” said Aan. Aan also received a report from West Java Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Wibowo and Central Java Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Sonny Irwan, where both of them states that the rest areas prone to trouble spot will be managed jointly in managing traffic flow towards the location. “According to our evaluation, Central Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate has prepared technical operation where there might be three clusters that will take the majority of their attention,” said Aan. Moreover, Aan also highlights the issues in toll gates where some drivers could not pay the e-toll payment and will discuss further to resolve the issue. On the other hand, tourism traffic will also be part of their attention in every Eid Al-Fitr Holiday. He admits that there must be an evaluation on traffic engineering in tourism traffic and tourist destinations. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
