Secretary General of the Ministry of Health Kunta Wibawa Dasanugraha stated that they have prepared a team of 150 members to monitor the readiness of health facilities for Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024. "Every year during Christmas and New Year, we set up health service posts so that travelers can be well taken care of in case of any issues," he said on Thursday (21/12/23). He explained that the 150-member team will be positioned at health service posts along various travel routes, including Jakarta-Palembang, Jakarta-Surabaya, Jakarta-Yogyakarta, Surabaya-Bali-West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Medan-Padang, and Makassar-Tana Toraja. These posts will operate from December 18, 2023, to January 3, 2024. Azhar Jaya, Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, stated that the 150-member monitoring team would receive support from 15,000 hospitals nationwide, with a focus on Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. The monitoring encompasses evaluating the preparedness of health facilities at community health centers, hospitals, and port health offices. It also includes health service posts at toll exits, operational toll lanes, rest areas, non-toll roads or arteries, tourist spots, places of worship, terminals, stations, airports, and ports "Evacuation readiness is ensured through 352 Public Safety Center (PSC) units 119, along with two-wheeled and four-wheeled ambulances," said the director general.
