Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Governor Pramono Anung has issued a strict directive banning mass organizations, known locally as ormas, from conducting unauthorized raids or "sweeping" operations against restaurants during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at a church event in Jakarta on Saturday (14/2/2026), the Governor said that maintaining public order and interfaith harmony is the administration's top priority.
"As Governor, I am responsible for regional security, and I will not permit any unauthorized raids," he asserted, highlighting that Ramadan should be a period of peace and tolerance.
The Jakarta government is coordinating with law enforcement to prevent any activities that could trigger social friction or public disturbances in the capital, according to antaranews.com.
Governor Pramono noted that while Jakarta is home to a Muslim majority, the city must remain a comfortable and inclusive environment for all citizens. To ensure a smooth fasting month, the city administration has prepared comprehensive security measures and religious agendas designed to foster a safe, respectful atmosphere leading up to the Eid al-Fitr festivities.
