Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Health Ministry reports members of Polling Station Organizing Group (KPPS) who passed away during the election process are 108 people. The numbers were recorded from 10th to 22nd February, 2024. According to the ministry, the deceased KPPS members were from 18 provinces, from Aceh to Maluku. The ministry also stated that many other KPPS members have fallen ill while on duty. “Many of them suffered from comorbid conditions such as cardiovascular, hypertension, URTI, diabetes, to chronic liver failure. Cardiovascular has become the highest cause of death with 24 fatalities,” said the ministry on Friday (2/23/2024). In terms of age, most KPPS members who died are those who aged 51-60 with 34 cases. Followed with aged 41-50 (30 cases), aged 31-40 (19), aged 21-30 (17), and four cases for those aged above 60. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
