inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Narcotics Investigation Crimes Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Criminal Investigation Unit arrested two ecstasy dealers, Syaiful, also known as Ipul, and Benny Saputra. Both were arrested in Pelalawan Regency, Riau, on Sunday (3/1/2026).
The Director of Narcotics Investigation Crimes, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, explained that, based on initial interrogation, suspect Ipul admitted to having been contacted twice by a man named Robi to deliver ecstasy from Pekanbaru City, Riau, to Palembang City, South Sumatra. He then drove the drugs with suspect Benny, who acted as the driver and arranged for a rental car.
"For the delivery of these ecstasy pills, Ipul was promised a fee of IDR 25,000,000 and received IDR 6,000,000 in travel money from Robi on March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:04 a.m.," he said on Tuesday (3/3/2026).
At approximately 11:06 a.m., the suspect was contacted by Indra, who directed Ipul to the drug collection location in the Rumbai area of Pekanbaru City, Riau, using his Yamaha WR 155 CC motorcycle. Ipul then proceeded to the location and successfully recovered the drug evidence, specifically under a utility pole on the side of the road.
"After successfully retrieving the drug evidence, Ipul returned home at approximately 11:30 a.m.," he said.
He further explained that half an hour later, Benny picked up Ipul and immediately traveled to Palembang City, South Sumatra. The 30,000 ecstasy pills they were carrying were estimated to be worth IDR 30 billion.
